A lull, and then a maelstrom
For the past month or so, I’ve been pretty heavy on the blog (whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing, I don’t know… maybe for me a good thing), but there has been nothing but dead silence since my trek across the Arakawa ten days ago. The truth is I’m preparing for a great migration; well, short-term displacement. I’m going home for Brandon‘s wedding and will be in the States for a little over a week starting this Thursday. That of course means a great deal of travelling, which in turn means a great deal of writing and introspective thinking. HOWEVER, in America they use these small, manually-guided metal, inorganic shapes called “cars” to move oneself about, so this means either a lot of crashing while writing and driving at the same time, or dictating to my Sanyo voice recorder. I’ll choose the latter. Still, I’ve noticed that when I dictate my thought processes are markedly different (read: neanderthal) and distressingly less eloquent, so I’m not sure how much of that material will be kept.
In any case, it’s T-minus 51 hours until I leave for the airport, so until then there is the requisite running around and hand waving where one looks quite flustered and says, “What is one to do?!”
return true;
